My body was so tight and frozen from developmental trauma and decades of living with a dysregulated nervous system.
I had tried all sorts of things to help. So many wonderful modalities out there. They all had their place in supporting me along this journey, along with the talented and caring humans.
Some were amazing in their own ways, just not as accessible enough to help me to the degree that I needed.

Block Therapy entered my life in 2019 and has been a big part of my self-care and healing journey since.
I am deeply grateful to Deanna Hansen for creating this work, and for all the experiences and wisdom that went into the creation.
Today I share this modality with you, wrapped in gentle, intuitive singing.

My Experience
Starting in my teens my body experienced challenges that increased rapidly despite countless hours of self-study, numerous attempts at trying different things, and a Master's degree in health. By the time I found Block Therapy, I’d had chronic fatigue for more than 2 decades, wrists that were so inflamed and unable to do a pushup or downward dog, arms so stiff I could barely brush my teeth, digestive issues severe enough that it hindered my capacity to work, neck and shoulder tension that kept me from being able to fall asleep easily, and the list continued. Block Therapy was one of the few things that truly helped move the needle on my health and healing journey. From the moment I lay on the Block, I felt immediate relief in ways my body had been craving. Was the relief enough to solve my problems then and there? Well, no. Not so fast. We have tension (adhesions) in the fascia built up and ever-accumulating since we were infants. And compensation patterns that become compounded. Some things can resolve rather quickly, but other things - especially the ones we've been eager to solve - can take time. But because it's deep and powerful work that will give you noticeable shifts rather immediately, you feel motivated to continue. At least that's been the case for me, and for so many others. I did not have the patience and energy to keep up with modalities that could be supportive in the long-run, but that didn't create a noticeable change rather quickly. Overtime, you become empowered in the process, learning to relate to pain as a guidance for where you are holding tension. You learn to connect at a deeper level with your body. Everyone's healing process is different, but for me, one of the earlier shifts was in the enormous tension in my shoulders and neck, that would only be temporarily soothed through massage. With massage, I felt better during, and for a few hours after, but that was it. With Block Therapy, each time you use the Blocks, you create lasting changes. And my digestion. Manual maneuvers recommended to help hiatal hernias (stomach caught above diaphragm) often helped bring some temporary relief, but the Blocks were noticeably going deeper and creating new levels of change. So far I've experienced significant improvement or full resolution in the following areas: - stiff neck & shoulders - so bad I often couldn't fall asleep - tense arms - so tense it was hard to focus on work or brush my teeth - painful wrists - tired eyes - tension in the face and jaw - stiff and achey scalp - cold hands and feet - hiatal hernia & digestion in general - popping and cracking sounds in my knees - squeaking sounds in my neck - asthma during pollen season (no more!) - energy levels - deeper breaths and more. I now live with a deep knowing that my body is and will continue to find its way to health, and it is in good hands.

What is Block Therapy?
Deep Fascia Release Work
A lifestyle.
A therapy.
A self-care tool for life.
It can reverse the tension in your body that has formed over the years as a result of gravity, unsupportive posture, injuries, surgeries, sedentary lifestyle, emotional stress, etc.

Block Therapy Benefits
It may not help you fly, but...
You may feel like you can afterwards. As you melt the blockage in your tissues, you free up space for better flow and your cells begin to move back towards better positioning.
Overtime, your body will become healthier, look better, function better, and feel better, in oh so many ways!
